The Duke and the Princess

A ocelet with tawny, spotted fur leapt through the brush, followed by a young girl. She wore a long blue and green dress, her bare feet, padding against the hard soil. Her clouded eyes watched eerything. To anyone who didn't know her, would automatically assume she was blind. Her eyes looked like they could see nothing. The truth was that they saw all too much. Not only did she see her surrounding, but she saw other's memories. It was her gift and her curse. She was the Princess of Memories. At the moment she was exploring the Unknown Lands. She often came here for rest and a break from her 'sisters.' "Marin, don't stray too far," Andromeda, otherwise known as Andie, called gently.

Duke was also walking through the streets. His tatered clothing hugged his figure to perfection. He looked like a god among humans. Though he wasn't human. A werewolf and the dark nature sourrounding him told the tale of blood and torture. His features told of days in the sun with wind swept blonde hair and sparkeling blue eyes.

Zeto padded quietly beside him. The wings on her back rustled with each step. Her fox head hung low, with saddness and something else.

Andromeda could feel the blood near, but stayed silent walking behind Marin. Marin, however walked near the man and his pet, watching them curiously. He sat and waited until Andromeda was right behind him to move again, keeping her close. "Marin, I don't think it best to intrude on them," Andromeda said as quietly as she could to him.

Duke twitched but planted a boyish smile on his face, "Hello, nice evening."

Zeto melted in to Duke's shadow. Her tail just barely visibible.

Andromeda looked up at him, her eyes seemingly unseeing. She could feel the blood and pain radiating off her, enough to almost make her sink to her knees. "What are you?" she asked. Marin glanced up at her, puzzled.

Duke smiled visiouly and let wave after wave of memory hit her, "I am a werewolf. Nothing more."

"Though most call him
The monster of nightmares
Including me," Zeto's voice was sad and slow.

"A true monster," Andromeda said, her voice wavering. "How many have you killed? I can see every one of their faces. How can you not regret them?" she asked. Marin growled, but stayed where he was. "It's fine, Marin," Andie said quietly.

"To many to count, Princess," Duke added with a sly smile. Zeto came forward and pressed her nose to Andies cheek.

Andie did fall then. "What did you do? Tear them apart limb by limb?" she asked. She could feel every torn wound, every broken bone. Everything. She squeezed her eyes shut. "Please, just stop thinking about them or something," she said quietly.

"Why? I like my memories," he laughed.

Zeto turned angrily and opened her wings wide she let out a low ruff.

Duke seemed to deflate, "Darling, please don't do that." His thoughts turned away from his past to Zeto. All Zeto and absolutely nothing else. He looked like a lost little kid, "Darling?"

Zeto lowered her wings and snorted disaprovingly.

Andromeda had a hand placed on the earth, holding her up. Marin was pacing around her nervously. Her eyes blinked open, a hand to her hand. Her vision was dizzy. "How can you stand that?" she asked, her voice lost and utterly confused.

"Easy, I enjoy it," Duke smiled but a warning growl from Zeto made his face drop.

Andie stood again. "Why do you listen to her so well?" she asked curiously. Andromeda was curious about anything and everything. Well, at least the things she didn't understand.

"I don't want her to die," Duke whisspered quietly.

"I cannot say
My story is untold
To all but him," Zeto'as harsh and resentful.

"Why would she die if you disobeyed her?" she asked. Andromeda wondered who was the master and who was the companion. At the moment, it seemed as though the man was the companion.

"She would be ungaurded and be killed by her coven," Duke looked sad, "Darling, I hope you find I only did it to protect you."

"Just because you disobeyed her? Or was there something else?" she asked. Marin sat beside her, glaring at Duke. He was obviously not too happy that Andie wasn't tearing him apart.

"I am not one to blurt out another's story," Duke's voice was triumphant, "If you do not see the gap between her feathers then that is your problem."

Andormeda smiled. "Don't make me take it from you," she said dangerously quiet. "Just because you can hurt me with your memories, doesn't mean I can't harm you either.

"Try me," he challenged.

Zeto sighed and rolled her eyes, he would only enjoy the pain.

Andromeda watched him silently for a moment, then closed her eyes, moving forcefully and not without pain, into his mind, shifting through his memories like files, making sure he felt her digging.

Duke sh with joy, "Ahh, the pain of the mind. He began to flash memories of a small girl. Drowning in her own mothers blood by being forced under water by Duke.

Zeto sighed, "There is no use
He shall only enjoy
The pain and thought."

Andromeda winced, but continued through his midn until she came across his thoughts about Zeto. She threw them out almost, letting the memories pass through his mind until she came to the one of Zeto's past.

Duke didn't stop her.

[i]A young woman with the air of death. Even heaver then Duke waltzed through her castle. Her mind was on a young fox but her arm was being held by another man. She didn't seem very happy at all. They kissed a goodbye at the door and the woman returned to her chambers. The young werefox lay there. The image fuzzed and came to an intense part. The werefox sliced in to her chest with a knife he had hidden under the pillows. He poor his own blood in to the wound and she shrieked with rage.

"What are you doing!?!" anger seithed through her, "Do you know who I am!?!"

"You are my love," he answer simply.

"You are nothing!" she yelled, "I am Zeto! The greatest Coven leader and the most powerful dark spell caster ever!"

The image changed and Zeto stood with the other man, "I have to show you what I am. So you know."

The man smiled, "It will be great coming from you." -c-
